INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Kimberly Gomolka (Hosford) has been locally trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and hip hop for 8 years. She began taking dance seriously under the instruction of Naythanie’l Tavcar, and currently trains under Lesa Dusich, Artistic Director of the Reno Dance Company. She performs locally in several ballet and contemporary productions each year and dances in a variety of undeserved communities such as Yerington, Elko, Winnemucca, and Susanville with RDC. Kimberly also performs locally with hip hop crews associated with S.U.R.V.E. Dance Complex, and The Reno Empire. She is the founder of Art in Motion’s Youth Performance Group, and continues to serve as its Artistic Director. Kimberly has been choreographing and teaching at Art in Motion since 2010.
JOHN MOJICA
John Mojica started dancing at the age of 15 in the style of Hip Hop. By the time he was 18, John was offered a scholarship to study all styles of dance at Dance City Dance Academy. He quickly became part of the competition team and competed at various national competitions such as Spotlight and Starbound, where he even received a judge’s award. Around the age of 20, John became a member of the Reno Dance Company. He has been featured and lead principle roles in numerous productions such as, A Tribute to the Stars, Rhythm of the Night, Cinderella, Frozen, The Wizard of Oz and the Nutcracker. John has taught hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, ballet and partnering classes and has been a member of Art in Motion since 2012. He is our Artistic Director for the teen competition Performance Group dancers,.
SIERRA TAYLOR-CLINE
Sierra Taylor-Cline was raised in Las Vegas, NV and moved to Reno to pursue her career in Mass Media at the University of Nevada, Reno. She graduated with her BA in 2017 and decided she wanted to pursue dance education more seriously. During her time in Reno she has worked with various studios and organizations and been on local teams and crews. She really enjoys the aspect of bringing the community together through dance, and hopes to start up her own organization in the future. She is the Artistic Director of the youth Performance Group Dancers and has been an Art In Motion member since 2012.
ALISHA JOHNSTON
Alisha Johnston was born and raised in Reno. She has studied hip hop, ballet, jazz, and lyrica with Art in Motion for 9 years, Mrs. Monique being her first teacher. She danced competitively and performed with the Performance Group for over 5 years and locally performed with Artown. Alisha started by assisting multiple teachers and substituting for various classes. She continues to study different styles and has been teaching for Art In Motion since 2015.
LAUREN DE TIBERIIS
Lauren De Tiberiis started dancing at Studio 3 Dance age 7 in Plano, Texas. At 10, she began competing in with her company team for three years. At 14, she moved to Tracy, California, to find her new passion for the world of theatre. There, she apprenticed for Bernadette Kelly for two and half years before branching off on her own. She has choreographed for amateur theatre companies, as well as high school dance teams. Lauren has been trained in musical theatre, ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and contemporary. In 2020, she graduated with a public health degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Lauren became a part of Art In Motion in 2018, where she teaches classes and is the administrative assistant.
SAMANTHA DE TIBERIIS
Samantha DeTiberiis started dancing 14 years ago when she was 6 years old. She began her dance training at a studio in Plano, Texas, continued dancing in Mountain House, California where she was the captain of her high school dance team, and finished high school training at a dance studio in Boise, Idaho. As Sam is currently pursuing a double degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology, she also continues taking dance classes at UNR, and dances with a Reno-based Modern dance company called Around The Stage. Throughout her years of dancing, she has trained in the styles of jazz, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, Pointe, and hip hop. Sam’s favorite styles of dance are contemporary/lyrical, jazz, and ballet, and her favorite dance moves to perform are illusions, calypsos, and a la seconde turns. Sam has been teaching at Art in Motion since 2018.
TRISTAN SMITH
Tristan Smith started dancing and gymnastics training at age eight in Auberry, California. She trained and performed throughout high school and college. Tristan was a cheer co-captain in high school and competed on her dance team. She began teaching dance and gymnastics in Dayton, Ohio, teaching toddler to the leveled gymnastics classes, dance and Special Olympics. Since then she has taught at California Arts Academy, Aly Tapley Dance and Inspire One (a Christian outreach program). Her areas of expertise include gymnastics, cheer, contemporary, lyrical and jazz dance with some experience in ballet, hip hop, and belly dancing. Tristan has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development from Walden University. Tristan choreographs with our Performance Groups. .She also runs our Parties at Art In Motion.
KELLY AUGUST
Kelly’s passion for dance was sparked far before classes began. Once she stepped into a dance studio at age 2, there was no getting her to leave. Born and raised in Las Vegas, she was surrounded by top their teachers and performers. Frequent trips to watch the locally renowned ballet company perform ignited her love for ballet and classical training. Starting her training at a local dance studio Kids In Motion, she was involved on both a recreational and competitive level. Competing in multiple showcases a year at the young age of 7, she continued to take training and classes all over the west coast. After the age of 10, her family decided it was time to follow ballet training more seriously. She enrolled and was granted full scholarships to the Nevada Ballet Academy, a training facility where dancers had the opportunity to move into the full world-wide known company, Nevada Ballet Theater.
IRENE CROUSE
Irene Crouse is a Reno native who began dancing at age 6. She has danced in commercials and performed on MTV. She also competed as a gymnast until age 18. Since 2005, Irene has choreographed and assisted in classes with Art In Motion. She currently teaches Creative Ballet at our North Valley’s location.
MARLA RICHARDSON
Marla Richardson is a Registered Ayurvedic Practitioner with AAPNA, graduating with distinction from the University of Nevada Reno with a minor in Dance. She received her yoga instructor certification in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala in 2011. She is also a trained studio dancer and singer, and has performed professionally in over a dozen production shows all over the US and abroad and considers the performing arts medicinal for her spirit. She calls the Sierra Nevadas home, instructing here for over 13 years.
MELANIE HANSON
I am a full time working Mom of three and wife of 22-years. I am a “Dance Mom”to our youngest daughter who has been with Art In Motion for almost 12 years. I have been involved in fundraising for these amazing dancers for over 3 years now. Last season a fellow Art In Motion Dance Mom and myself opened a 5013 Non Profit group called “AIM For The Spotlight”. This has helped expand our fundraising endeavors. My goal is to help our Dancer’s families with Team costs and enjoy my daughter’s passion for dance!
ANDREA YOUNG
Andrea Young graduated from San Jose State in 2014 with her BA in Dance and has been teaching for 15 years. She has been a member of Art In Motion since 2023.
